Music Videos: Snoop Dogg “That Tree” + Kelly Rowland “Commander”
Posted by n.w.strax in Apr 04, 2010, under Music Videos
Check out the behind the scene footage of Snoop Dogg‘s new video “That Tree,” featuring Kid Cudi. The concept of the Erick Peyton clip is a live action pop up book. Its great to see artists stepping out of the box, and not offering the public typical club orientated videos.

KELLY ROWLAND is seeking a new partner for her latest music video – the singer’s reps have sent out mass emails urging big brands to appear in the promo.
The former Destiny’s Child star is following the record industry’s late st craze of teaming up with famous companies to cover the cost of music videos.
Her reps at Universal Motown are on the hunt for marketing executives t o pay for their products to appear in the promo for the debut single from Rowland’s new record – her first since parting ways with ex-manager Math ew Knowles and former label Columbia Records.
The email reads, “We are currently seeking brands who want to partner w ith us for the upcoming (Grammy-winning, platinum-selling) Kelly Rowland music video for the first single off of (sic) her new album.
“We are primed for an outstanding project. This will be a video that is serviced around the world.”
Its great to see Kelly getting the support from her label, that she didn’t appear to receive with Music World Entertainment.

Travis McCoy wants to be known as “Travie” these days. After all, that’s how he’s always been known amongst his family and friends.
“I mean, anybody who knows me already calls me that. No one in my circle calls me Travis. Even my family, at a young age started calling me ‘Travie,’ ” he said, cracking up slightly. “So I want people to feel comfortable calling me ‘Travie.’ It’s almost like inviting people in. You can be part of the family, so long as you buy the album.”

Posted by n.w.strax in Apr 03, 2010, under News

Dallas police have announced that they’ve charged neosoul singer Erykah Badu with disorderly conduct for her nude video shoot on a downtown street.
Police Sgt. Warren Mitchell said the “Window Seat” music video shoot happened March 13 on the streets bordering Dealey Plaza on the east and north. He told reporters Friday that a 30-year-old woman had submitted an affidavit on Badu’s walking striptease that ended with her nude at the spot where President John F. Kennedy was shot dead in 1963.
Mitchell said a citation will be mailed to Badu, a Dallas native. Disorderly conduct is a Class C misdemeanor in Texas, punishable by a fine of up to $500.
